Battery aluminum foil is used as a collector for lithium-ion batteries. Generally, the lithium ion battery industry USES rolled aluminum foil as a positive collector.
The thickness of rolled foil varies from 10 to 50 microns. Common lithium battery pure aluminum foil 1070, 1060, 1050, 1145, 1235, 1100 and other alloy grades, including -o, H14, -h24, -h22, -h18 and other states.
Lithium batteries are usually cylindrical or square in shape. The inside of the battery is helically wound and separated between the positive and negative electrodes by a very fine and permeable polyethylene film. The positive electrode includes a current collector composed of lithium cobalt oxide (or lithium nickel-cobalt manganate, lithium manganate, lithium ferrous phosphate, etc.) and aluminum foil. The negative electrode is composed of graphitized carbon material and copper foil. The battery is filled with an organic electrolyte solution, plus a safety valve and a PTC element (partially cylindrical) to protect the battery from damage in case of abnormal conditions and output short circuit.
The quality requirements:
First, the surface color of aluminum foil is uniform, clean, flat plate, no obvious roller printing, pitting, pinhole, corrosion traces;
The second aluminum foil surface without crease, spot, bright line and other rolling defects;
The third aluminum foil surface without chromatic aberration;
No oil on the fourth surface, no serious oil and gas smell, no visible oil spot;
The fifth surface tension, dyne pen test is not less than 32 dyne;
The latest research:
According to the latest research of lithium ion battery industry, the surface of aluminum (Al) alloy foil used as positive collector of lithium ion rechargeable batteries can be etched and roughened to improve the charge-discharge characteristics of batteries. Compared with the aluminum foil without surface treatment, the charge-discharge characteristics of the battery were significantly improved. This is important for the development of rechargeable batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as rechargeable batteries for power storage for wind and solar power.
